The mountain worship practiced beyond space and time – the museum is a hub of learning, experiencing, and preserving the shugendo, and the Dewa Sanzan culture for future generations.
Its name “Ideha” has relevance to “Dewa” and the German word “idea” (meaning “ideal philosophy”).
Lectures and seminars on the history of the Three Mountains of Dewa, the mountain worship, the shugendo, and other topics, are held from time to time. You can learn about the world of the Three Mountains of Dewa and rediscover their fascination.
The sound of the horagai, a trumpet made from a large conch shell used by yamabushi of the Three Mountains of Dewa, is said to have the power to disillusion all living things and to exorcise evil. You can actually play this instrument in the lesson.
